22 climbed Mount Snowdon to raise money for Megan’s World. An inccredible day and all reached the top safely we are pleased to report!

Jump for Charity!

4^th time lucky for Aimee and her skydive and this time, she managed to rope old school friend Brain Speakman into join her! 6^th March 2010 the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day and the nerves were showing! On route to Tilstock Airfield in Whitchurch, Aimee suddenly realised that they were both about to jump 10,000 feet out of a plane!

3pm…… and they were both called to be suited up in their rather fetching outfits and gorgeous hats and off to the plane they went. Thirty minutes later and it was time to jump…. Aimee and her instructor jumped first, along with Herbie (the cameraman), closely followed by Brian.

Words cannot describe how Aimee and Brian felt…. and still cannot describe it. Aimee is now hooked and has booked another jump for 31^st July, and has roped her friend Clare Orford to jump too!

Megan’s World would like to thank everyone who supported and sponsored Aimee and Brian, who together, raised a massive £1140!!

Damien Woodward gets rid of his lovely locks!

On 9^th February 2010, the lovely Damien Woodward had all his hair cut off for Megan’s World. This took place in Lowestoft College. What a brave soul he is as he hair was just past his shoulders and now it’s nicely shaven…. and what a handsome man was hidden underneath! Thank you to Damien and all of his supporters who raised almost £800! Aimee wonders if, for a bit more money, would Damien be prepared to be waxed? Watch this space!

Megan’s 1st Birthday Conga

Wow, what can we say!! What crazy ideas Aimee has to raise money! We celebrated Megan’s 1^st Birthday with a 2 mile Conga from Marie Curie Avenue to Thornton Garden or Rest on 21^st February. Although Megan did not officially turn 1 until 22^nd February, this was a year to the day that Megan was born. It was great that so many people turned up in their fancy dress to support us…. even the men wore pink tutus, leg warmers and we painted their nails pink!!

Megan’s World would like to thank Mel and Barry Scott who drove all the way from Somerset to celebrate Megan’s birthday with us… and donned their tutus to conga! Also, Paula Evason and her daughter Mel, Beccie Baxendale and her children Tyler and Skye….. Aimee’s fantastic (yet crazy friend) Alex jigged on her bobby horse, and my Aimee’s boyfriend Richard, who teamed his tutu and leg warmers up with his very fetching luminous jacket!! Megan’s Granddad, Dave, drove the car which blasted out the ‘Conga’ song on repeat, and Megan’s Ninny, Paula, Uncle Kev, and Aunty Sarah, joined us our dance! We even managed to pick up some more followers and supporters on route and stopped cars with our collection buckets!

Megan’s World raised £183.50 ‘conga-ing’ and we would like to thank those you stopped and donated, and even beeped their horns in support! We are now planning Megan’s 2^nd Brithday, although it will take something special to beat her 1^st.

Debbie Whyatt shaves her head!

All at Megan’s world would like to say a huge thank you to a very special friend, Debbie, who braved the cold on 21^st February and shaved her head right down to a number 2! This took place in the Baker’s Dozen Pub, Switch Island, Liverpool, after Megan’s 1^st Birthday Conga. I’m sure Megan is very proud of her wonderful Aunty Deb and was watching as her Mummy, Aimee, made the first cut!

All our angel babies are very proud of you Deb, for raising over £400! The world would be a little better if we had more Debbie’s in it, And thank you for your continued support.

Megan’s World Charity Launch Night

The launch night was the night we were all waiting for and what a night is was…… We certainly launched Megan’s World with style and I’m sure you will agree! With VIP guest Dr Paul May (top surgeon from Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, and winner of the ‘Inspiration Award’ which Megan’s World sponsored) and his lovely wife Sarah.

Not only was the Launch Night the beginning of Megan’s 1^st Birthday weekend celebrations, this was also the day Aimee last saw Megan on an ultrasound, at 33 weeks pregnant. This made tonight even more special and we all thank you for sharing this with us. A massive thank you to ‘Neon Nites’ who were our entertainment for the evening, and also to Sue at ‘Exclusive Occasions’ (Crosby, Liverpool) for the beautiful table decorations and fantastic balloons. Did you see our wonderful cake? This was kindly donated by Ashleys Cakes in Walton Vale, Liverpool, and I could not have asked for a better cake!! Thank you! A huge thank you to the Hughes family….. Sharron, Dave, Leah, Rachel and baby Lottie, who travelled up from Surrey to attend tonight and share this special occasion with us. It makes us so proud to have your love and support. Also thank you to the crazy Mel and Barry Scott, who drove from Somerset to share Megan’s birthday weekend with us. Megan’s World would not be here without the dedicated help of everyone thank you for the support and we hope you will all support us for many many years to come. We raised £510.

Ladies Night Friday 5th February 2010

The ladies night saw some, well explosive sights and a fantastic night was had by all. We managed to raise a whopping £1033.07.
It was brilliant to see so many faces that support our cause and we also had so much fun so much so it’s certainly something to do again.
There are so many people to thank for been there but you all know who you are so give yourselves a great big round of applause and Thank you all once again.
